Snurk

Snurk

The Netherlands

SNURK is a small Dutch company that was founded by Peggy van Neer and Erik van Lo. The company was born with an idea for a duvet cover that resembled a cardboard box, Le-Clochard. Together they worked out a plan to donate a large part of the proceeds to The Dutch Foundation for Homeless Youth (SZN). The Homeless Foundation responded with enthusiasm and so Erik and Peggy decided to take the plunge. A year and a half later, SNURK was born.

SNURK means "to snore" in Dutch, but their products are anything but boring. All the products are designed in Holland. They begin with sketches and are finished with high resolution photography. It can take months for the designs to be finalized and when they are, the bedding is manufactured in Portugal, printed on soft, luxurious cotton and cotton velour. In addition to donating proceeds from the sale of several of their designs to charity, Peggy and Erik are committed to realising their designs using ethical and environmentally responsible production processes.
