This just in: wooden toys from New York's David Weeks, whose line we are thrilled to welcome to CO. Well known for his lighting and furniture, and inspired by a desire to inject added humour into his work, and by his nine-year old son, Weeks branched out into toys a few years ago. He has developed an ever-expanding line of playful wooden animals with moveable joints, for New York's Areaware. We have just received our first order for Ursa Minor and Hanno Jr.
Ursa Minor may be a young bear, but she's got the muscles of a grizzly and the protective nature of a mama bear. Hanno Jr. is the youngest relation of Hanno the Gorilla. He's named after Hanno the Navigator, a Greek voyager who explored Africa 2,500 years ago and discovered gorillas. Toys to watch over you, yes, but as with most young creatures, they love to play.
