CO is pleased to announce the addition of two exquisite French design lines.
Madame MO, situated in the south of France, is a company started by two internationally acclaimed animators. The principal characters from their offbeat cartoon series, Intermèdes, have evolved into a range of whimsical objects inspired by Japanese minmalism. The "Koinobori", or flying carp, are derived from traditional Japanese flags placed outside homes during festivals to wish them happiness, prosperity, joy and health. Perfect for housewarming! Madame MO's gentle humour and creative wit also imprints their practical shopping bags and magazine racks, which illustrate some of France's most iconic couples.
Closer to Paris, we found bilum. Hélène de la Moureyre's very-hot-on-the-French-scene company that repurposes huge outdoor advertising banners made from tarpaulin. This sturdy material is given a second life as it is transformed into bags destined for daily use, adjusted for perfection, and tested on Parisian scooters, Italian bicycles and Indian rickshaws. Let's add Montreal's Bixis to the list.
