Heath Nash is a South African artist and product designer who uses plastic garbage to make sophisticated and beautiful lampshades. Nash's work expresses a contemporary South African aesthetic by combining high-end design and craft-based techniques. Nash uses local talent and traditional craftsmanship to create stunning lamps out of recycled plastic bottles and caps. He and his team collect plastic, which is then rinsed and cleaned. Handles and bottoms are cut off and the container is transformed into a sheet, from which pieces are cut and arranged onto a wire frame.

Heath Nash studied sculpture at the University of Cape Town. In 2006, Nash received the Elle Decoration South African Designer of the Year Award. In 2007, he was invited to show his pieces at The New World Show for the British Council, at Trash/Luxe at London's exclusive design destination Liberty's, and at 100% Design. In that same year, Nash was named South African creative entrepreneur of the year.
