This birch veneer shade is made using traditional techniques and natural materials. The veneer is carefully laser cut by a skilled airplane model maker. The Norwegian Forest table light shows a deep pine forest with animals in light and shade. When lit, the blonde birch veneer shines with a warm glow, and the delicately cut forest motif lets light filter out between the trees. The steel lamp stand (H 58 cm) is custom made and powder-coated white. Thin natural leather lace is wound around the legs to soften the touch against the table surface. The veneer shade is hand sewn onto the frame using the same leather lace. The assembly and leather detailing is done by hand in the designer's Oslo studio.
