This shade is made using traditional techniques and natural materials. It is crafted from thin double layered natural birch veneer, carefully laster cut by a skilled airplane model maker. The simple shape of the shade and the structure of the wood are challenged by the intricate pattern. The Norwegian Forest pendant shows a deep pine forest with animals in light and shade. When lit, the blonde birch veneer shines with a warm glow, and the delicately cut forest motif lets light filter out between the trees. The steel frame is custom made and powder-coated in white. The shade is hand sewn onto the frame using natural leather lace. All the parts are assembled by hand in the designer's Oslo studio.
