by Madame MO

The 5th of May in Japan marks the Festival of Children. During the festival, koinbori are placed outside houses to wish them happiness, prosperity, joy and health. "Koi" means "carp" and "nobori" means "flag". They are offered at CO as decorative objects for the home. They can be hung in a door recess, or from the ceiling or a door handle. They can also be flown outside on the end of a bamboo cane, or attached to an arbour. Made of organic cotton, the flying carp are machine washable.
